This Week at Alpha II

October 16, 2026

Ahhh, the sweet life of a 4-day work week! An extra day off reminded us all of the importance of moving slowly and taking a break. As we all rolled back into school this week, we moved a bit slower and embraced the moody fall vibes.

Jeremy took a few folks to check out this year’s RALLY Conference on Wednesday, and on Thursday some mentees had a great day outside at Biidaasige Park with Hartley. The park was outfitted with swings, ziplines, and climbing structures. The mentees had a chance to learn a little bit along the Lassond art trail. There was an epic battle for most shots scored at the basketball tree.

The Pickle People picked up pickling and pickled more pickles to wrap up the week. Hope you enjoyed that tongue twister!

Saying “Yes” More

This week, our mentors were reminded of just how powerful it is when mentees step out of their comfort zones and say “yes” to new opportunities.

When we organize field trips, cooking extravaganzas, and other group activities, we aren’t just planning fun days—we are creating spaces for mentees to build connections with one another. Our recent park day is a perfect example of how much fun we can have from simply spending time together.

We know that saying “yes” to something new can feel a little scary at first. However, it also opens up doors for incredible learning and community building.

How you can help: We encourage you to chat with your child this week and cheer them on to say “yes” to the many cool, upcoming activities we have planned here at A2!
