Sarah Brieanne Garrett – In Loving Memory

On July 28, 2026, Alpha II alumna Sarah Garrett died as a result of an unrecognized heart condition.

To raise funds for her sister’s celebration of life, Allyssa Garrett posted this message on GoFundMe (https://www.gofundme.com/f/sarah-garretts-memorial-fund).

It is with unimaginable heartbreak that we share the sudden and unexpected passing of my beautiful sister, Sarah, at only 29 years old.

Nothing could have prepared us for this. Just days ago, Sarah was making plans for her future. She was only two weeks away from leaving her job at Metro, where she had worked so hard, and was looking forward to receiving her payout so she could finally go back to school and begin the next chapter of her life. She had so many dreams, so many goals, and so much more life left to live. None of us ever imagined those dreams would be taken away so suddenly.

Sarah had the biggest heart. She was the kind of person who would do anything for the people she loved, even if it meant putting herself last. She had a beautiful smile that could brighten any room and a laugh that you’ll never forget once you’ve heard it. She was funny, caring, compassionate, and the kind of sister, daughter, granddaughter, aunt, and friend that everyone deserves to have. She loved deeply, and she made the people around her feel loved just as deeply.

To me, she wasn’t just my sister, she was one of my best friends. She was someone I could always count on, someone who understood me without words, and someone I truly believed I would grow old with. I still can’t believe I’m writing this or trying to imagine a world without her in it.

Sarah leaves behind a family who loved her beyond measure. She was a cherished daughter, granddaughter, sister, aunt, niece, partner and friend. Her absence has left an emptiness that can never be filled, and our hearts are shattered.

As we try to process this devastating loss, we are also faced with the unexpected costs of giving Sarah the beautiful memorial she deserves. We want to honor her life in a way that reflects the incredible person she was and allows everyone who loved her to come together to celebrate her memory.

If you are able to donate, no amount is too small, and every contribution will go directly toward Sarah’s memorial and helping our family during this incredibly difficult time. If you’re unable to donate, we completely understand and would be so grateful if you could share this fundraiser and keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for helping us honor Sarah’s life. We will love her forever, miss her every single day, and carry her memory with us for the rest of our lives.

Donations came from many people. Alpha II alumni were a significant number of contributors, enabling Sarah’s Celebration of Life to be fully funded.
