Mik Tampold – PhD, McMaster U, English

Mik Tampold spent grades 7-12 at Alpha 2. During that time, among other things, he focused on developing his social skills—as someone on the autism spectrum, this did not come easily for him. Many years later, Mik still has a vibrant group of friends from Alpha 2.

He also credits Alpha 2 with giving him the self-direction skills to explore numerous academic opportunities, such as dual credit classes at Seneca and George Brown College, academic bridging at the University of Toronto, and even his English PhD program at McMaster University. Alpha 2 gave Mik the social confidence and people skills needed to succeed.
